Image Bank

The two images above are both from the photographers that are identified in the exam brief and use juxtaposition within their work.
I chose this image because I like the ideas of contrasting the young and the old. Specifically in this photo I like the fact that the particular body parts have been zoomed in on. This creates a more in depth exploration of juxtaposition within the photo.

I like this image because it is not immediately obvious what the juxtaposition is therefore the image makes your think about the connotations that it has.

I like the idea of contrasting old and new architecture within photos. In this particular photo the old and new architecture is in close proximity to each other. This means that they can be photographed within the same frame. If this is not possible for me to capture then I would like to photograph old and new architecture separately and then use a diptych to place them next to each other.
This image contrasts old and new architecture however I particularly like this photo due to the saturated colours that have been used.

I feel as though this image is very interesting because it shows juxtaposition between people and the environment by using a silhouette of a person and then filling it with another image of a landscape.

The two photos above are taken by a photographer named Harry Kaufman and he uses photoshop to place derelict buildings in the same photo as a new, modern building. This is a clear use of juxtaposition within buildings which is something I would like to explore. I also like the way that he has edited them to make them look as if they are in the same photo.

This is a photo taken by Jasper James. He uses juxtaposition within the use of people and architecture. I feel as though I could explore this type of juxtaposition within my work.

This is an image by Stephen McMennamy. I like the way that the images fit seamlessly into each other. I would like to use the idea of putting different images together within my work.

I am inspired by this image because I feel as though this is something that I could achieve in my own work. This means that during my project I want to visit somewhere that has juxtaposition like this. I would like to photograph juxtaposition in one frame.

After researching multiple images that show juxtaposition I have decided to focus on the juxtaposition of architecture. I have chosen this because I like the difference between new and old architecture and I find it interesting to capture the different ways in which these types of buildings are made.
